Set of NOS Marchal headlights (model TP 435's) with yellow 6 volt bulbs. The relectors were resilvered at Steve's Auto Restorations Foglight reflectors can be done here too! Lenses are very "foggy."

Marchal lights installed after the relector resilvering. I was able to clean the inside of the glass with a mild abrasive glass polish to remove the "fogging." The glass came out perfectly clear.

Procedure for fixing the rear parcel tray area.

Window installed with repro rubber and restored brite dipped aluminum trim. New VW of Australia T34 venetian blinds installed. Thanks Steven Ayres for helping me find this!

Rear view of the blinds

NOS windshield, NOS rear view mirror and restored trim installed. Trim was worked on by Ano-Brite, Inc.. They are expensive but worth it!

Used PoP's repro rubber for this project as NOS rubber was not supple enough to install the trim correctly. The repro rubber was so easy to install that I did it by myself with no helpers!!

The tedious task of doing one door is complete.! I hope I never have to redo it.

A closeup of the material used in the interior.I found it in an interior shop many years go.

Used a repro T3 Wiring Harness and had to extend the wires to reach the NOS regulator. See this article for more details. The dollop of POR 15 in the upper left hand cornner was applied because the chassis powder coaters missed a spot.

Overall view of the battery area
.
Accessory Alpert mirror. I do have a stock T34 mirror but I wanted to see what this looks like.

Rear seat mounted with the hinges installed. Interior man opted to use the existing wood to rebuild them. He said there were too many details in the original wood to recreate them accurately. Had to use oversized screws in the hinges to make them grip. Am looking forward to carpeting this area very soon!

Wooden strip behind the back seat. Vinyl was glued on this to give it a finsihed look. Real NOS VW tacks were used to reintall this. (not a big deal for most folks)

Finally the brick red seats are installed. I have had these in storage for years!

NOS yellow 6 volt Norma 36 watt foglight bulbs

Five NOS wheel rims and five new 15 inch Coker tires with white walls. Rear parcel tray installed. Vehicle "roller skates" enable the car to be moved around the garage.

Spare tire installed... NOS rim with new Coker tire. Repro trunk cardboard covering a freshly restored fuel tank area.

Still working on the dash. This '63 came with the early white shift knob.

Wing vents recrhomed. NOS window scrappers. New horizontall felt. PoP repro vent seals. NOS rear wing vent seals.

6 volt Optima battery installed. I couldn't bear to install a standard battery after repairing all the damage of 40+ years of previous fluid and gas leakage. I modified a stock mounting strap to make sure it's secure.

Regulators, and all other hardware, were zinc plated to prevent rust.

Can't go outside! There is snow and salt out there!

NOS door sears, door handles, and locking mechanisms.

The front emblem has NOS packing to protect the paint.

Hard to see the packing under the emblem

The front end is done!! It will be a shame to cover it up with the gas tank.

Finally the tank is installed with the spare wheel well.

Luggage tray installed.

Vintage T3 NOS Koni steering dampner and steering coupling hardware.

The accessory Fanfare horns installed with the NOS Italian dual colored front turn signal lenses.

Front shot of the Italian lenses. You can't see the orange sides.

Body ID tag rivted back in next to the NOS washer water bottle.

Dash work. Full set of NOS gauges are wrapped in plastic for protection.

Johnny Bolton comes over to help with engine installation. Two old VW guys get it installed in minutes even though we haven't done it in decades.

All NOS relays - the car is still 6 volt.

Without the ugly guy in front of the car.

After 20 years the engine is installed

NOS non-repro brake fluid reservoir. Reproduction versions have a tendency to leak because they do not have the screw on base. NOS wheel cyllinders and Master Cylinder. System was filled with DOT 5.

Amazing job Jimmy did restoring this area. That's an NOS T34 spare wheel well gasket.
